First Reconciliation (also known as Confession) and First Holy Communion are the two sacraments which usually follow on from Baptism.

The preparation course for both sacraments is for Baptised Catholic children in school Year 3 or above. It is very important to attend Sunday Mass. The course is primarily parent led, using the ‘I Belong’ book.

The expectation is that parents will guide their children and support them during the programme.  There is a separate parent book for this purpose.

Parents and children should attend the Sunday 9am Mass during term time, where there is the opportunity to participate in the Children’s Liturgy at the appropriate level. 

Near to the time of First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion, we also offer two preparation sessions with a Catechist and fr. Brian.  This year these will be:  Saturday 13^th June at 10-11am and Saturday 20^th June at 10-11am.

First Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturday 27^th June 2026 at 9am

First Holy Communion is celebrated on Sunday 5^th July 2026 at 9am
